Assigning Tags
Once you've created your tags on the Tags page, you can start assigning them to transactions. Transactions can be tagged with as many tags as you need, added manually during transaction creation or revision, or automatically by setting up Rules.

How to manually tag transactions
Tags can be assigned to transactions when creating or editing them on the Transactions page.
From the Transactions table
If you already have tags set up on the Tags page, you can easily add tags to any transaction via the Transactions page:
Locate the Tags column and hover the mouse cursor over the cell for the relevant transaction row to see an "Add" button appear
Click on "Add" and a drop-down menu will appear with all available tags
Locate the tag by scrolling through the menu, or search by typing in the search bar
Click on a tag to add it to the selection (you can add more than one)
To confirm, click on "Done", or anywhere outside of the dropdown box.
All added tags will then be listed in the relevant cell under the Tags column:
From the 'Transaction Details' panel
Additional tags are assigned to transactions via the 'Transaction Details' panel:
Go to the Transactions page
Locate the transaction and click the arrow on the far right of the row to open the 'Transaction Details' panel
In the 'Transaction Tag(s)' section, click the empty field to search or add new tags
If you have existing tags, they will appear in the drop-down menu. Alternatively, type a new tag name and the option to add the tag will appear.
Once you are done making changes, click on "Save Changes"
From the Bulk-Edit menu
If you are looking to add the same tag(s) to multiple listings in bulk, you can use the Bulk-Edit tool:
Open the Transactions page
Select all relevant transactions using the checkboxes in the far-left column
On the right side of the screen, click on the 'Bulk-Edit' button
From the Bulk Edit menu, select "Remove all tags"
Click on "Save changes" to confirm
How to auto-tag transactions with Rules
A tag rule can be set up to automatically assign tags to transactions that match any specified conditions.
Tag rules can only be used to add tags to transactions, and this action is cumulative. A rule cannot be used to replace or remove existing tags.
For example, if you have a tag to track a kitchen renovation in your home, you can create a rule that will automatically assign the “Kitchen Renovation” tag to any transactions associated with your contractor, by using the “matches payee name” condition. This way, whenever you make a payment to the contractor, the transaction will automatically be tagged.
How to create a tag rule
All rules are created via the Rules page:
Open the Rules page
Click on "Add a new rule"
In the 'Create transaction rule' panel, you can now add your "If.." conditions and "Then.." actions. The option "Add tags" is found in the actions drop-down menu:
You may also choose to enable certain rule properties under the "Finally.." section. A common one to enable is the "Run rule on transaction updates" property:
To finalize, save the new rule by clicking on "Create" at the bottom and the rule will then start running on any new transactions. If you wish to create the rule and also apply it to any already existing transactions, click on "Create & Apply" instead.
How to view all tag rules
To view all existing tag rules that you have set up in your account, you can go to the Rules page, and then click on "Tag Rules" from the left-side menu:
